INITIATIVES OF THE LADIES COUNCIL of ST. MARK PARISH:
- Bake Sales: The first weekend in December with a raffle and Palm Sunday weekend. Donated items are appreciated.
- Take and Bake Pizza Sale: The council takes preorders and assembles pizzas for parishioners and the community.
- Holy Treasures Rummage Sale: Held periodically during Spring break, parishioners are asked to save and donate gently used and new items. This event has raised up to $6,000.00 to benefit the parish. Many volunteers are needed to make this a successful event.
- Baby Quilts: A quilt is sewn for each child who is baptized in the parish.
- Funeral Committee: The committee hosts a luncheon following funerals in the parish for those attending the funeral. We can use the help of additional women and men. All women of the parish are invited (two or three times per year depending on the number of funerals) to bake bars or prepare a salad.
- Dinner Parties: The council gathers for a Christmas dinner party in December and a spring dinner party in May. Other parties may be thrown in throughout the year (i.e., Mardi Gras, etc.).
All monies earned from these initiatives are directed to parish and community needs and for scholarships. We invite all women of the parish to support these sales and participate in the Council.
